My story
My name is Nikoletta Krokavecz, born in 1989 in Hungary.
Since childhood, drawing has been my passion, and I was a student for two years at Eventus Art School in Eger, specializing in graphics. I married young, became pregnant twice, and was a housewife while my husband lived and worked in Switzerland. During this time, my soul felt the urge for self-expression, which led me to start my Facebook page "Nicoline Art Hungary, Switzerland" in 2015, initially named "Nicoline Art-Borsod megye". Here, I uploaded the works I created alongside motherhood.
After a while, I began to dream bigger and felt the urge to try new techniques. I gained experience in decorative wall painting, airbrush, and digital drawing. I prefer to create in a realistic style, but I also enjoy painting more sketchy images with acrylics.
So far, I have found inspiration primarily in photos I found online, in nature, animals, and the human body. Recently, I often draw ideas from experiences during my meditations. I also enjoy working with various glittering and phosphorescent effects. I find beauty in every step of the painting process: I like sketching with a pencil and also enjoy filling the empty white space with color. Sometimes, I like to get lost in the details; for me, this is a true flow state. Applying the final strokes and signing the work also brings me joy. However, the painting only feels truly alive to me with the application of varnish. That’s when it “comes to life.” The layer of varnish enhances the play of contrasts. Before I start creating, I ask God to bless my work and express my gratitude for allowing me to use my mind and hands to be one of the fortunate ones who communicates the messages I wish to share with the world. I am also grateful to my husband, who, through his mental and financial support, has enabled me to implement every idea that comes to mind.
After 12 years of a long-distance relationship, we decided that we did not want our children to grow up without their father, so we gave up everything and followed him to Switzerland to finally be a "real" family. Since June 2023, we have been official residents of Safenwil.
Here begins the reconfiguration of my life. I experience every situation more intensely than the locals due to my language deficits. Of course, I am doing my best to learn the language so that I can integrate as quickly as possible and become a useful member of society.
I am currently in the midst of significant spiritual development. How I experience this is evident in the paintings I have completed this year. I face constant inner conflicts whose resolution rests solely on me, but I embrace and experience them, as it is the only way I can become who I need to be. With my spiritually inspired paintings, I also aim to inspire others who are fighting similar inner battles.
